Emily & Jordon had the impossible for their wedding day: a picture perfect day that was also completely layered with intention and meaning.
When they started planning their wedding in Texas, they realized that they wanted an epic adventure. What more perfect place could there be than Jackson Hole? In the planning process, I learned that Emily lost her mother when she was 16, and Jordon has lost both his parents. It was so important to them to honor all 3 of them, and so from start to finish, they did. Emily & Jordon exchanged letters to be read in the getting ready process; Emily wore her mother’s wedding dress; they had memory pins they incorporated into their outfits; and they scattered their ashes in Grand Teton National Park.
I immediately connected with Emily & Jordon–they are both incredible people, but their relationship reminded me so much of my husband and myself. It means so much to me to work with couples who are wildly in love, who have even had that love tested and are still willing to vow to stand by each other’s side until the end of time.
Their wedding day was so breathtaking. Getting ready at Amangani felt luxurious and beautiful; there was not a dry eye around as Jordon’s sister surprised him with his boutonniere with the pin of his mother’s picture nor while the couple read their letters to one another; the ceremony was set up perfectly in Grand Teton and Jordon surprised Emily with a song written exclusively for their wedding day (Jordan is a very talented musician); when Emily & Jordon paused their portraits to scatter their mothers’ ashes without any sound but the wind blowing through the Tetons; their stunning portraits, and their incredibly fun reception; this was truly one of my favorite wedding days of all time.
Please enjoy the most beautiful wedding day of a couple I have the great pleasure of now considering friends.
