Alex & Robert’s Wedding at the Dunes West Golf and River Club

I always pinch myself that I get to have my dream job. It’s such an absolute privilege and honor to be present for some of the most personal moments of my couples lives–saying their vows, and entering their first few moments as a married couple. Each and every love story is so unique and beautiful–just like the couples themselves–and Alex and Robert were no different. It was my honor to witness and capture their beautiful summer wedding celebration at Dunes West Golf Club in Charleston, surrounded by so much love and joy as their family laughed and cried with them as they said their vows and then danced the night away. As a Charleston wedding photographer, I felt so blessed to document and preserve these memories for them so that they could be totally present in the moment on their beautiful wedding day.

The Dunes West Golf and River Club in Charleston, SC provided a breathtaking setting for Alex and Robert’s wedding. Nestled on the banks of the Wando River, this venue boasts stunning waterfront views, lush landscapes, and Southern charm. They lucked out with perfect weather that beat the Southern heat and made the focus on their commitment and celebration!

Good wedding photography is all about capturing the intricate details and moments that make each event unique, bottling it up as a visual time capsule for each couple. I try to preserve the tiniest, carefully chosen details, as well as the big picture moments and surroundings so that the couple can revisit each moment (even moments they couldn’t be present for–as you can’t be everywhere all at once on your wedding day!). There were so many beautiful moments throughout the day (I teared up behind my camera on more than one occasion!) and the night ended with an absolutely epic dance party.

Alex & Robert’s ceremony took place outside, under the live oaks dripping with Spanish moss, overlooking the river. When Alex and her dad walked down the aisle, the emotion was so strong and beautiful. Both families are really close, and it was truly something rare and special to witness. The love Alex and Robert share shone through every photograph, both posed and candid. This summer wedding was the textbook definition of a celebration, and it was my joy to photograph. I loved that no one held back at the reception, and everyone truly brought it on the dance floor! From the speeches, to the cake cutting, to the sparkler exit at the end of the night, this was one of the best weddings I’ve ever been a part of. I honestly forgot that I was working, because it was such a fun vibe and I was simply documenting each moment of joy as it unfolded.

I love my job. I love wedding days. And I love my couples. It was such a privilege to capture their wedding day and preserve this chapter in their love story for years to come. I can’t imagine a more perfect setting, guest list, or wedding day for a couple as beautiful as this one. Congratulations to this precious couple and wishing them a lifetime of joy!
