Summer & Lyle’s Downtown Charleston Engagement Session

Charleston holds a special place in my heart, and I love when I meet couples who adore it as much as I do. Summer and Lyle, who met before college and have been inseparable ever since, fell in love with the town while dreaming up their wedding day, which I can’t wait to preserve for them next June! We met in downtown Charleston, in what I consider to be the most romantic area, to serve as the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos. Being downtown for an engagement session feels like we’re stepping back in time. It’s so ethereal and beautiful!

I so enjoyed winding through the French Quarter with them both, getting to know each other better and helping them feel comfortable with me. Because, let’s face it, only a few of us love getting our picture taken! It’s so important for me that we feel like friends hanging out, instead of being at a photoshoot to really let your love shine through! It’s so important to have the engagement session to get to know each other better, and feel totally relaxed and comfortable by your wedding day. This will allow you to truly immerse yourself, be totally present and feel your wedding day. It allows your photographer to feel like a friend, instead of a stranger you’re just meeting as you enjoy one of the most emotional and exciting days of your life! If you want your photos to truly be a visual time capsule, you have to let your photographer in on the magic that you share with your person. It’s the only way to get the emotional, documentary style photos that everyone craves for their wedding day! I’m so excited to see Lyle & Summer’s wedding day vision come to life next spring.
