Hannah & Jackson’s Downtown Charleston Engagement Session

When I spoke with Hannah and Jackson about their wedding next spring at Club Creek at I’on next spring, I loved that she and Jackson had such a strong vision for what they wanted their wedding journey to be like. That vision began with their engagement session, where they wanted to showcase their strong love for one another and for downtown Charleston. As a member of the Charleston fan club, this was SO exciting for me because is truly such an abundance of beautiful photo locations in the Charleston area! I’ve been here for a year now, and feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface of all the breathtaking spots that this area has to offer.

Hannah and Jackson absolutely love Charles Towne Landing (which encompasses Legare Waring House), and so we began our session here. It’s easy to see why, walking among the oak trees and Spanish moss feel otherworldly and removed from the hustle and bustle of the area. We walked over to this alley of live oaks, which were absolutely breathtaking! I love having an engagment session, especially for couples who have never had professional photos taken, because it is like the warm up session for the wedding day and allows you to get to know my posing style ahead of time. It’s also really helpful for me to get to know you better! It’s only when I can see who you two are as a couple that the magic happens, and you two can truly preserve the feeling of this time in your life. It’s why I’m passionate about delivering photos that of course have some beautifully posed moments, but also have fun, candid, and carefree moments as well that showcase your love, communicate who you are, and what it felt like to be young and engaged.

From Charles Towne Landing, we went into downtown Charleston, where we wandered through Church St, Rainbow Row, and some of my favorite hidden spots in the area. I loved spending time with this beautiful couple and capturing their love here in this special place! Stay tuned for their wedding day next year!
