Luxury weddings might consider the Cottage Lawn or Inn Lawn. The Cottage Lawn is expansive and open, surrounded by the property’s charming cottages and Spanish moss-draped oaks. It can accommodate 300 guests and requires a buyout of 50 cottages. The Inn Lawn is perfect for a Sperry tent. Especially as the open lawn is expansive and perfectly framed by the Inn. It requires a full resort buyout of 200 rooms.
From coast to coast, Montage properties provide an unparalleled experience. I’ve been fortunate enough to stay at Laguna Beach, Deer Valley, Big Sky, and now Palmetto Bluff. You will never find a better experience or better service from the staff, and for a Lowcountry wedding venue, Montage Palmetto Bluff is a standout for that reason (and its breathtaking beauty, of course). From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted by friendly and attentive staff members who are dedicated to making your wedding day a memorable and stress-free experience.
In addition to its beautiful venues and exceptional service, Montage Palmetto Bluff also offers a wide range of activities and amenities for you and your guests to enjoy. The resort has several swimming pools, restaurants, and bars on-site, as well as a spa, fitness center, and a wide range of outdoor activities, including kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing. There’s plenty of things to make it a once-in-a-lifetime experience for your guests.
Montage Palmetto Bluff is unique in that instead of a traditional hotel room format, it features guest cottages, suites, residences, and guest rooms throughout the property, which, to access, you can bike or take a golf cart ride. Each is designed in a classic Colonial style, with hardwood floors, high ceilings, and screened-in porches. Again, this property is truly a photography dream because the natural lighting is perfect for dreamy and well-lit getting-ready photos and candids. Each accommodation option is beautifully appointed and offers luxurious amenities like plush bedding, spacious bathrooms, and private balconies or porches.
There are so many options for a perfectly bespoke wedding experience at Montage Palmetto Bluff. No matter the size of your guest list or your vision for your wedding day, you can select something completely personal and unique to your vision. The property has two chapels: the May River Chapel and the Somerset Chapel. The May River Chapel can accommodate 120 guests, perfect for small to medium-sized weddings. The chapel sits on the banks of the May River and is a photographer’s dream–the natural light is unmatched, and the vaulted ceiling makes it feel quite spacious. The Somerset Chapel is slightly larger and is set on the interior waterway of the property. This chapel also features incredible natural lighting thanks to its beautiful windows and can seat up to 185 guests.
For an outdoor venue, look no further than the Village Green. This sprawling lawn is located in the heart of the resort and offers panoramic views of the river and surrounding landscape. The Village Green can accommodate up to 500 guests, making it perfect for large weddings. It features the beautiful ruins of the Wilson Mansion and is perfect for a tented reception. The other outdoor venue options on the property are the Boathouse Lawn, the May River Lawn, the Wilson Lawn & Racquet Club, the Moreland Landing, the Moreland Crossroads Lawn, the May River Golf Lawn, and the Sunset Lawn. The different outdoor options perfectly accommodate anywhere from 100-500 guests. The unique and completely bespoke nature of the variety of venue options absolutely makes this one of the best wedding venues in South Carolina and the Lowcountry.
For a unique and beautiful intimate wedding or micro wedding, the Grace antique yacht is amazing and can accommodate both weddings and receptions of up to 24 people. The Vine venue overlooks the property’s beautiful lagoons and has a capacity of 16 guests. It’s secluded, intimate, and private.
There are two ballrooms on the property, the Oak and the Wilson. Both are spacious and elegant, with high ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide plenty of natural light. The Oak Ballroom looks over the May River and can house 115 guests, while the Wilson Ballroom looks out over the grand lawn and can hold 350.
The stunning live oak trees and Spanish moss, perfect florals and meticulously kept grounds, cobblestone streets, and Southern architecture make you feel as though you aren’t bound by the confines of our modern era. It’s a place to lose yourself in your love story, what everyone deserves for their wedding day. The huge, sprawling property, with its river winding through the middle, is unlike anything else. I’m so grateful I got to spend time at this beautiful place, which is just about 2 hours away from Charleston, SC.
The resort has an experienced wedding planning team that can help you with every aspect of your wedding. They handle everything from selecting the perfect venue to coordinating vendors and managing logistics. Montage Palmetto Bluff also offers exceptional catering services for weddings. The resort’s culinary team can create a customized menu that suits your preferences and dietary restrictions. I have Celiac disease and feel totally cared for at Montage. Whether you’re looking for classic Southern cuisine or contemporary dishes, the culinary team can create a menu that will delight your guests.
It’s plain to see that Montage Palmetto Bluff is one of the best wedding venues in the Lowcountry. The resort offers a variety of stunning venues, exceptional service, and delicious catering options. The property’s natural beauty and upscale amenities provide a perfect backdrop for weddings of all sizes and styles. Above all, it will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for you and your guests. It would also be perfect for a Lowcountry honeymoon! I’m so grateful I got to experience the magic of this beautiful place.
